Shawnea brings two decades of experience rooted in high-stakes, sensitive environments. University of Southern California Alumni graduating With a degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s in Social Work, she spent 20 years working in Beverly Hills Court and LA Superior Court system. This tenure provided her with unparalleled, high-level exposure, fostering strong, effective working relationships with Judges, Lawyers, and Law Enforcement across Southern California. This deep understanding of legal process and security management ensures that every aspect of Closed Set is executed with meticulous professionalism, instilling a feeling of secured and peacefulness on every set we protect.
From Set Insight to Industry Integrity
It was this blend of courtroom discipline and operational insight that led Shawnea to the film industry. She built crucial logistical expertise and strong personal ties with Location Managers and production teams, providing her with a front-row seat to the demanding, high-pace environment of major productions.
But she also witnessed a persistent, demoralizing problem: many security firms catering to the industry operated with unethical and unsustainable business models—profiteering by charging high rates to production companies while significantly underpaying their officers. This lack of ethical transparency resulted in high turnover, low morale, and unprofessional security personnel, resulting in compromised service quality and unnecessary logistical difficulties for an already complex production environment.
